Svelte began with a simple yet powerful idea: to shine a light on the rich, untapped creativity of Australian and Tasmanian fashion and art. As a young founder from Tasmania, I saw a gap in the market—there was a lack of platforms dedicated to highlighting the local talent and unique perspectives emerging from this part of the world. Tasmania, with its stunning landscapes and growing creative community, was bursting with potential, but it wasn’t always getting the recognition it deserved. Inspired by the need to connect local artists and designers with broader audiences, Svelte was born. The magazine began as a passion project to showcase the untold stories of Tasmania’s fashion and art scene, elevating the region’s creativity to an international stage. Svelte sought to celebrate the bold, the innovative, and the timeless—building a space where both emerging and established Australian and Tasmanian talent could thrive.
